Ive noticed that all of the 99 GSX and GST models for sale around my area are around 13-15k. The blue book value for an excelent one with these miles is 11k for the GSX. Is this just a high asking price or is this the price these will actually go for. I know supras sold for a lot higher then the blue book at one point however the values on kbb increased to around what they were selling for.

people jacked up the prices since they are the last models of the 2g...i payed around that for mine so its probably around their for a gsx.

He drives a 4 runenr but my bros friend had a gst which was total trash. Everything was wrong with it lol. I heard only 1-2% of all 2g have crankwalk. Is this true?

Yeah, you have to try pretty hard to find a 2g that suffers from crank walk. Also, let your father know that there are more gst's out there than the one he saw, and not to base his perception on just that one. For all you know, he could have beat the shit out of it

I just bought a 98 gst about 2 months ago with 88K miles and it runs absolutely fantastic. I even had a mechanic check it out after I brought it home and he even said its a great car and I shouldn't have any problems with it. Eclipse's really are good cars, but just like anything you can have a bad one. My mom bought a brand new Honda accord and the automatic tranny went after 37K miles, does that mean all Honda's are bad. No!! These cars come highly recommended by me, but who am I, a nobody.

no car is perfect homie they all have problems some have more then others but no car is perfect and i agree with Import2nr99 of what he said that there alot more gst's out there then the one he saw and witness trashing down.. :2cents:

When it comes time to buy, ill just bring up my brothers trans am. Battery died and tranny went within 6 months among other less major things like worn out bushings and broken headlights. But he still lent him the $$ for it. And most important of all, the eclipse is not american!

When looking to buy a used gsx/gst, should i test drive a new eclipse to base the condition on or not? I know it is a new body style but handling/ride might be similar. thanks

You're not gonna get anywhere close to an example of a 2g gst/gsx by driving a 6 cyl eclipse. My section sgt has one and I personally think it sucks ass. If you test drive one, you'll be able to get a pretty good idea of it's condition. After you're done make sure you pop the hood and look for fluids... oil, coolant, etc. If everything looks alright and you liked the ride, go for it..... as long as the old man will give you the $$

I think hes gonna let me get one. He wants to know what the earliest sign of crankwalk was. I could only find signs like sticking clutch when i searched.
