S15 Headlight conversion....

I have the Silvia S15 headlight conversion on my 99 eclipse. I've only ever seen it done twice, other than mine. I was wondering if anyone has seen it and if you think I wasted my money... :2cents:

I'd like to see it, if you have pics. It's not top on my list but I'm sure it looks good, just too expensive for a poor kid like me.

my opinion of rice has nothing to do with clean custom body work. if it looks clean and has smooth lines, do it to it. if you got a bunch of stickers, a body kit and nothing under the hood, you got rice... s15 convo's are pretty rare, and i think they are sic... i would love to do it... ok 1 more dumb ass rims (http://www.lowridereuroweb.com/features/0303lre_topless/)

That is def a shame! To take such a beautiful ride like that, and slap on some retarded "lowrider" rims. Glad to see you (boostedspyder) have the same views as me about rice. It's all about the custom look and standing out from the crowd. Just gotta make sure you have the speed to back up the looks!

The taillights I have are custom molded 98 Supra TT taillights. Sadly, after lately I"ve been seeing more and more vehicles with it. But in my opinion, it's still a sick mod! Feel free to keep posting pics all! Appreciate it!

The tail lights are S2000. Pretty nice says its got 400hp.

Has any one ever seen the eclipse's with the skyline tail light conversion? that looks tight too.

i think a S15 headlight conversion wouldnt match the Eclipse, it'd be a waste of money for me. I think it would go on better with the Nissan 240's...but its your choice, those Eclipses with S15 headlight swap looks riced up for me..

There is a reason that they look good on a 240sx..... thats the car they're made for. Only the jdm version. So you're saying that if you do anything to the exterior of your car, even as subtle as a smooth headlight swap, you're instantly riced out?

its not the cheapest thing to do, have to modify hood, fender, bumper and paint and the lights about $1000

Yea it ran me abut 900... but looks awesome. The gov't pays pretty good for spending a year in a country full of people that want to kill you.... :evillol:

Thats pretty much what drove me to spend the money... I wasn't satisfied with the look of all the aftermarket headlights, and the fact that everyone and their grandmother had the, made me spring for the s15's... I"m glad I did it. Not to mention the show points help a lot too!

What exactly is wrong with stock headlights? Personally I don't see anything that looks bad about them. I might be ignorant to custom headlights, but to me, S15 headlights look almost exactly like eclipse's.

They both are about the same height, both rounded.. and both go a bit to the side of the car. I can see a huge different in supra headlights, but not S15. Not for 1g, and i'm not saying supra headlight swap looks good either, but its a bigger change.

Thats the thing thats nice about it... it's a subtle change... just enough to make you stand back and go "ddaaaammmmnn". Nothing drastic like supra, but noticable. I have no problem with stock either. But in the show scene... stock sucks. So to get ahead of the rest, you gotta make the extra effort. In the end, honestly, it all boils down to your own personal taste. To some.. it's sweet as hell, to others, it's just another ricer wasting his money. I just wanted to know what the general concensus was

Well I'm not into that scene enough to want to get them, but I don't call S15 conversions rice. If someone spends 900+ dollars for something that is OBVIOUSLY not a giant wing (blatant ugly rice), and makes the car look better/custom/win shows, then they have my respect. The only time I say someone's car is ricey is when their cars are the fashion equivalent of steve urkel. I'd love S15, show stuff, etc.. but I don't have the cash set aside for it over other stuff. :)

i personally am not a fan of conversions in general on any car. i hate taillight conversions. i have seen RX-7, S2000, supra, civic, and sentra. to me they all look like ass. as far as headlight conversions go, i can live with a s15 conversion. like it was said before, if done properly it can look clean as hell. but it isnt such a large change, that it totally changes what the car looks like going down the road. but this is only my opinion. and i also feel to each his own. its your car do what you want to it, as long as your happy. but if you rice your car out, be prepared to get laughed at by some. but look at the up side, the honduh guys will respect you. :thumbsdow

Aaaahh whats the matter??? You don't like strapping an erector set to the back or your car? Just playin man. I agree with you.... there's a line between custom and rice. Don't get me wrong... I love speed, but with what I have now, I'm already tempted enough to do things that will get me in trouble... No need encouraging myself by makin it even easier to go fast. :evillol:

So for now I'm satisfied spending my deployment money on looks. Hopin some day it'll pay off and I might actually find someone crazy enough to sponsor me! :screwy:

hey if you are into building a show car more power to you. i was just saying it isnt my thing. and i would also like to say thanks to all our service men and women past and present. what you guys give up so i can sit at home safely building my car is unpayable. you all have my greatest respect and appreciation. thankyou for the freedom you give us.

sweet... that's what i was saying [rice vs clean custom]... and don't get me wrong, i love the stock headlights, i think they are great. i just got some new 1100x piaa foglights [any install tips welcome] to complete the blue [day]/white 7500k [night] all around look. i love the fact that the stock lights are nice and open. i just want to see some decent halo's. they are available to everyone else, but we get stuck with the same crappy projectors... but i think it's the sharp corner of the s15's that gets me. it goes from sexy to slutty, and i like slutty...
