I have an Intrepid and really hate the battery placement of this car; it is placed under the air filter housing. To access it, I'd have to remove nuts and bolts and hoses and boxes to get the air filter housing out of the way. Not the kind of task you would want to do on the side of the freeway if the car break down due to battery problem since it requires some tools. Removing the battery would require some more tools to unscrew the battery strap and maneuver it around the tight spot before the battery can come out.
Enough comment on the ugly design for now. I am getting ready to buy a more recent Town and Country (possibly 2002). Anyone know about where the TC battery & air filter housing located (I forgot to check this out when looking at the van) ? I would hate it very much if Chrysler uses the similar battery placement for the TC.

The battery is located at the front of the drivers side engine compartment is not obstructed by the air filter or any other part that I can see. Right next to it is the Fuse box and in front of it is the computer module. It is very easy to remove.
