Now don't get me wrong I love a Corvette, I always have. But there are alot of pricks with rich parents that drive Vettes. This one I ran into at Club LaVela last summer was as cocky as he was ignorant. He had a 2002 bone stock with an automatic and 35k miles. A beautiful car, solid Black and a fresh wax job. No way in hell I would admit it to him but I love this car. Anyway this guy was staying at the same motel as us so I had been running into him for a couple of days already. We both ended up at the club one nignt and just like the previous 4 or 5 times we talked he bragged about this Vette. Add several shots of Yager and sexy girls to impress and all of a sudden he is bulletproof. This went on from 7pm until about 1am when one of the dudes with him hit my buddy with a bud light bottel. By the time the bouncers threw all of us out the door (all together 7 people) I ended up with swolen nuckles and a huge knot on my forehead where the bouncer threw against the wall. The whole suitation really pissed me off because I am normally very laid back,I have never been thrown out of a club before, and LaVela is my favoriate. It was all because he insisted his car would "blow my Mustang off the road". He really thought this, just because he had a new Vette. He knew nothing about a Mustang, hell he didn't know anything about his car. He then stood in my face and told me I could not beat him, pulled out his wallet showed me $500 cash said "lets go". I don't bet on my races but this was just too good. He was shitfaced and I was getting close so it was set for the next day. To my surprise he knocked on our room door at 10:00 the next day ready to go. I did not expect him to go through with it after he sobered up and I did not have the money. I took my friends truck back home which was 70 miles, picked up the title to my bike a 5 gallon can of race gas,and my slicks. Normally I would never think of risking my bike but as long as I did not miss a gear he did not have a chance. Once I got back I realized I left my jack, so I had to use the factoy jack from the truck which took forever. He was waiting for me to get mine ready and still had no clue of what was about to happen. Back Beach Road was about 2 miles away so it I was back at the motel in 15 minutes, with my title and $500. It was just too easy. Should have tried for title to title.

Talk about anti-climatic:)
Sort of like watching the Abyss;)
I would like to know, what the rich punk kid said to you when he handed you the money?

hey Parish, do youlive in CA?
If so, does your setup pass smog?
I have smog coming up in the spring and would like to know what my chances of passing are.

No man, I'm from Alabama, I can't tell you anything about passing smog. My car is about as non emissions as you can get since they do not enforce the regulations here. I went out with this chick from Mississippi and I know for a fact I could not have passed what they checked on her car.
There is more to the story, the race itself was over so fast I just go into detail. We raced on Back Beach Road which is a 4 lane with a median. It is really too busy to race on so we could not "line up" due to traffic. I was really uncomfortable with it but Money Talks. Since this whole thing started at the most popular club in Panama City, there were about 50 people who knew about it and wanted to watch so we had a convoy following us, so now I am about ready to say the hell with it. I pull into a gas station parking lot and we agree on pulling back out and going from a rolling start. He really is screwed now, from a rolling start all my car does is bark the tires in second and is gone. It's the only way my car consistently hooks. Knowing I could eat him alive I told him to go whenever he was ready after he pulled up even with me. I pulled out, reved to 2800 and held it there, he eases up beside be me and instantly nails it, jumping ahead 1 car length before I even react. That only lasted a second, and I had him by a car length by the time I hit third, at somewhere around a 1/4 I had about 6 lengths. I pulled into a parking lot about a mile down the road and he just kept going, I would have chased him down to get my money but it and my title were in the hands of a dude staying at the same motle we were. This was Sunday and we went home Monday so I never saw him after that, Monday morning his car was there and I started to knock on his room door just to rub it in but remembeing the knot on my forehead from the fight at LaVela I decided that might be a bad idea. I do wish he would have handed me the money so I could have seen his face but if he would have still had it on him when we raced I might have had to chase him down to get it.

No he didn't stiff me, someone else held his cash and my title. If we would have just kept them he could have ran, I know it would have broke my heart to hand him my bike. Hell no..now that I think of it I could not have given my bike to a dickhead like that. One of us simply would have a wooped ass, and we would both still have our shit. Glad it worked the way it did. I love my car.

You should've told him it was for "pink slips." People who don't know crap about racing will still know what that means. Of course, people who do race will just look at you. This guy was probably dumb enough to go for it. You could've netted a new Vette!
Was the road you guys raced on the one that runs through the airbase? The traffic there sucks all day and most of the night.
Alabama emissions tests are great, aren't they? Great how they're nonexistant! I can just imagine what it would be like if they started. I wouldn't even make it past the visual inspection... "Boy, you gots a hair dryer in place uh yur muffler." But, luckily, they don't get anywhere near the underside of my car. Gotta keep those turn signals street legal, though! :smokin:
