im getting lettering done and i want to know if the japanese lettering im getting really means prelude does and one know.

the first is "zen", the second is "sou".

zen means beginning, and sou is just a finisher for the word.

those characters are not very commonly used together to create the word "prelude" in japan.

the more common representation of zensou with the meaning of prelude is as below (please excuse my crappy work with MS Paint :D):
