I Apologize

Member s of AF,
I want to apologize for what I did yestarday. What I did was inappropriate and mean spirited, plain and simple. I dont know what got into me, I just flipped out.
Please go ahead and delete my rant, its over and done with.
Taranaki, Jim, Dave, Vince and whoever else I missed-I'm sorry. As I said, my conduct was un-acceptable. Theres no way around it. Im not asking to be un-banned, I just feel as if I should make amends
Members of AF-No matter what I said about Brian, and no matter what you think of him, look at it this way. He's a good mod. Even though it means he closes alot of threads, bans people we like etc. it also means he does the job well. Treat Brian with more respect than you would have treated me. He deserves it.
Brian-Ive said what needed to be said privately.
And my parting words of advice. Dont buy an S13 in a place where rust exists.
So Long everyone,
Derek

What you did dorikin took balls, not many people can do that. Everyone gets angry and sometimes they do not do the rational thing to do. At least Dorikin was man enough to admit what he did was wrong and apologize.

BRING BACK DORIKIN :crying:
That's up to Igor, Brian and the rest of the Mods now. One or 5 mods isn't enough it takes 90% of the lot in agreement to reinstate him.
Consider this though in the midterm. Like before these part of the forums are will be under a very close watchful eye. All those involved in that thread and the bitching, moaning and carrying on can be considered on final notice.
Unlike Brian (who is one of the best natured mods), I push back 1000x harder when even the slightest resistance is felt, and won't lose a seconds sleep over it either.

Derek you can not come back under a new registated name, even with the best of intents. My suggestion to you is if you want back in, email Igor, pm the mods, but I wouldn't post anymore.
I'll let this new nick stand temporarly, very temporarly.

why post this? how many people follow ANY of those "guidlines"?
how many of those "guidlines" are followed?
welcome newcomers - happens 1 out of 10 times, and they really never get the info they ask about, just get flamed.
don't attack each other - this happens in 90% of the threads if not more, all because you have different opinions.
keep your posts clean - better than the rest of the list but deffinately isn't followed as a "guidline" should be.
seriously, we have a whore thread in the 240sx forum
if your gonna make people follow one rule about respecting mods then atleast make them follow all the rules, atleast if you make everyone follow all the rules you can respectably say your doing your job, but if you only do it half the time you can't get pissed that people complain about you and you not doing your job, thats cuz your not, and its not just the 240sx forum, I've been to a lot of them and its pretty much the same so chill out and acctually do your job so you can stop being hypocrites.
if you really wanna do a good job, don't ban one of the people that acctually contribute and post and know the answers to the questions being asked. and post like a normal person yourself, contribute by being a member, not a mod.

contributing member, yes. and my friend in real life, yes.
but when a thread like that is created, he's shown the collective AF population that he no longer wants to be a member, so Razor granted his wish.
if you'd like to criticize us as hypocrites, i invite you to be a moderator for a week and see just how hard it is.

^ I'd like to take on that challenge. I've been mods in many different forums and video-games. My other admin-comrades have been hated, but never me. The reason is because I only exercise power when it is needed, and I never ever act as if I was superior or had power over someone else. I never let it get to my head. I only used it when it was favorable to others, not myself. And yes, when in times I got flamed, bitched at, cussed at, I never abused my power and kicked/banned them, I just never got offended, how the hell am I goin to let some lil immature twit that I don't know hurt my feelings. Sometimes it is hard though, people will always get mad, you just have to make the best decision and if its for the best, most people will agree with you
BTW I'm not directing this towards anyone

if he didn't want to be her why not just let him leave if he chooses instead of ban him, I see banning someone for one outburst a waste of a good member, save it for some guy that lies about having a skyline and continually makes crap up or continually talks trash on mods and members both, not just for a one time thing, so it was a big thing, but it was one time, the mods all need to chill out and be a little more understanding
and don't offer me to be a mod for a week, I never said I would be a great mod or I'd be better than you, neight did anyone else, but if you can't do the job right don't do it, don't just say "well you can't either" cuz I know I can't, and I'm not gonna try
"this thread officially closed by me if I were a mod though"

and how, may i say, am i doing my job wrong??
READ the user guidelines and READ that flaming is a bannable offence. flaming of a moderator is a bannable offence.
i didn't write the rules guys, i just enforce them.
i wasn't the one who banned Dorikin btw, so don't come bitching at my front porch about that one.
if you are attacked by a moderator, report him instead of attacking him back. if he's reported, he will be dealt with. if you flame him back, you're only welcoming the banning of yourself as well.
i never abuse my power and ban people because of personal feelings. i could care less what some 10 year old pimple faced geek from across the continent thinks of me over a stupid message board. i make my decisions for the good of the collective membership, never for personal gain.
stealthj - your name is on the "watched" list in the moderator's forum, and you seem to have a "fuck this forum" type of attitude. i don't think those would be the kind of qualities that would befit a moderator.
like i said before, it is the membership that makes a forum shitty, not the moderators. you guys are the only ones who can change things for the better. i'm just here to clean up all the shit you start.
just be lucky that i'm not like some of the other mods on this site. some on here are iron-fisted take-no-shit guys. i'm at least a bit leinient at times.
publicenemy, soyo, stealthj. you all seem to be the ones who are persistent on critcizing and attacking the way i do/have done my job around here. if you don't like it, i welcome you to leave. i'm not going anywhere.
but i will say this. all discussion/criticism/bitching about how i do my moderatorial job ENDS HERE! i have received PM's of support from quite a few members, some of whom are my friends outside of AF, some of whom aren't, who support the way i do things and think i'm a good moderator. i also have the full support of the moderatorial team. while i value all of your opinions, 3 members not liking the way i do things isn't going to change much. apparently, judging by the support/critcism ratio i've gotten, i'm a good moderator and am well-liked. if you 3 or any of you others have specific problems with the way i do things, then PM me with them and i will resolve them how i see fit. it does NOTHING when you just sit here and bitch about how i'm a bad moderator. oh really? well tell me HOW specifically and maybe i'll do something about it.
criticism ends here. if you don't like it, leave.
btw, Dorikin's account has been re-instated, and things between us have been resolved. he is taking a breather from AF for a while to let his harsh feelings cool down.
