Hi all, I have a chev 350 in an aussie car(75 h.q 4 those who know it) and it has been in this car 4 about 18 months.. just recently as the engine gets over bout 2300 revs and has warmed up it just loses power completly and stops even at 80 mph, but if i restart the car it goes but as soon as it reachs 2300 rpm it dies again. I have pull the carb off and cleaned it(bot bowls where fuel and jets clean) and it is getting fuel but it still does it which makes me think it could be electrical any help would be great in this matter!
Cheers
Steve

Hi swork

It sounds like you may have an electrical ault in your distributor. Check for cracks and loose wires in the engine bay and ensure that the battery hasnt died and is holding plenty of charge,

Also it could be that there is a blockage in the fuel filter or the fuel lines have collapsed (which after so many years of trusty sevice they will) or are blocked.

Maybe also get your fuel tank flushed out to ensure that ther is nothing in hthere that could be blocking the fuel pick up point

My mate had a similar problem, it was his tacho, when he got to about 3 grand it just cut out, but after stopping and restarting it was fine.
If you have one try disconnecting it and going for a spin.
