Steaming Up!

Has anyone got the answer to my Odyssey's steaming up problem - when it's quite cold less than 40 degrees and if it's damp or raining outside then the insdie always steams up. The dealer, of course, blamed me for not using the controls properly! I've never had this on any other car I've owned. With the heat on max. and the fan on max. all the windows still steam up.
Any ideas?
thnx

I believe if you use the defrost setting it ends up using the A/C which inturn removes humidity. Seems to remove the steaming up problem on our Odyssey just fine.

The dealer and the handbook confirm what you say but it still steams up - what else could be the matter?

We occasionally have issues when there are a lot of us in the van and it's raining. Each person has a lot of moisture on them. For a long trip it eventually clears up. Don't know how else to help you..

A really small coolant leak could do this - the moisture leaking out can get blown into the car through the heating system.
You usually can smell this though. Can you smell coolant in your car when this occurs?

We have the same problem when there are more than four adults in the car. We operate with the A/C on while using the heat, but it still happens. It is really bad when it rains. Hope someone here has an answer because Honda doesn't. I have tried all modes of heating or A/C but the only thing that seems to remove foggy windows is to crack the windows and get outside air.
I, too, will be interested if someone has a cure.

Also make sure the system is in fresh air mode and NOT recir. Does the a/c work when it was hot out? Maybe the a/c doesn't even work and therefore cannot remove the humidity in the air.

Thanks for the reply.
On mine the AC works great and recycle mode or not I still have the problem. I also had the dealer repair say I must not be using it properly. Mine is a 2001 Odyssey but I have a relative with a 2002 and it does the same thing, mostly when it is raining.

I have a similar problem with a 95 Odyssey. AC is on, and have tried recirculate, fresh, etc. Especially occurs if any heat is added, and there's also an odor. System has been checked/charged, and we have been told it's okay (true, if you don't need to see where you're going!). :2cents:
