I have a 1990 2 dr SE coupe, 2.5 L quad 4 16 valve.
We just got a new car and have no place to keep the Grand Am so I may sell it to my son's friend for $500 or we may end up doing something else. If we had room in the garage, we would keep it and fix it up.
We are having a hard time parting with it, my husband and I both have loved this car. It still flies past most of the new cars on the road, it has some body rot but the thing still keeps going.
I had it since it was 2 and I am going to miss it.
My other car is a 1998 Saturn that I hate, but it will be cheaper (insurance wise) and safer for my son to drive that than the Grand Am, and I am planning on getting another car soon and giving him the Saturn (which is a putt putt compared to the Grand Am).
Has anyone else had one of these cars? This was my favorite car except for the 72 Olds Cutlass I had years ago.
In 12 years of owning it, I spent about the same as I have spent in 6 years of owning a Saturn on repairs, go figure!
Is this the right place to post to Grand Am lovers or is this just for car problems?

Hi! I am a big Fan of the Grand Am SE's from 1987-1991. I own 5 Grand Am's at the moment. How many miles does the GA SE have? Did you sell it yet & where do you live? What color is it? Does it have a factory sunroof? Auto or Manual trans? Fully loaded? How bad is the rot? Please let me know. If you did not sell it yet would you sell it to me? Depending on where you live I will buy it. Thank you for your time! I own a 2003 GA GT1 30th Ann. Edition (Fusion Orange), 1988 GA SE Turbo w/90K, 1987 GA SE manual Turbo w/17K, 1989 GA Quad 4 & the other one is fpr parts.

Hi Greg:
My son's friend bought the GrandAm (we miss it already). It was a white 1990 SE quad 4 with 120 K on the original engine, and it still has the original trans. It was a manual and it was fully loaded.
Son's friend loves it! We are hoping he has a good of an experience with it as we did. The insurance was a little more than he expected (it is classified as a sports car and he is a teenager and it is his first car), but he found a place to get cheaper insurance and he is happy with it.
I don't think GrandAms were ever the same after the 1990 model year. The 2003 GA GT1 you have sounds like a nice one though.
Take care.
