Type S salvaged(water)

hi, i found this type s at my local salvage yard its $13900.00, car drives and its water(i guess it ended up in water) car is clean and doesnt have any visible damage(its like new except when u get inside it has that water smell) what do you guys think. Is this good buy. If i buy it what things i need to do to drive it(i know i need to go and do DOT) can some1 tell me the process and how long would it be and how much would it cost me, and also would i have any problems with engine and transmision. thxs

Do not buy that car unless every electrical component under the carpet was replaced. There may not be issues now, but 1-2 years you could run into all types of expensive electrical repairs. The vehicle carries a salvage title for the rest of it's life - only liabilty insurance available in most cases & only worth 25-50% of the retail value.

To properly remove the smell, not mask for a couple days/weeks, you will need to have an ozone treatment after all interior pieces have been cleaned/protected properly. Some detailing shops offer ozone treatment. The smell is a lving organism & only ozone will kill it, chemicals only temporarily cover the smell.
