What wheel offset do I get?

I'm looking to buy new wheels for my car, and dont know which offset to get. There is +45mm and +40mm. My one friend told me to get the +40 because the +45 would look goofy. Any of your help would be appreciated.

y though will this increse handeling wouldn't a perfectly centered offset be better ? plus what is the integras stock offset for their wheels
