I have a 94 J30 with approximately 138k miles. Last week the check engine light went on, which I imagine is an emmissions issue.
What is usually the cause? Is it the oxygen sensor and if so, how much is the repair?
By the way, I am very satisfied with the J30, which I purchased (for $7,800) in early 1999 when it had 78k miles. The car has been great and still runs very well.
Comments?

I just purchased my j less than 3 days ago. go figure I get three miles off of the lot nd my check engine light comes on. The thing is though, that it doesn't stay on. It goes off and on. I have been trying to watch when it does come on, but have noticed no pattern in time or driving conditions. I did notice that it has remained on ever since i added the seafoam injector cleaner to my gas. maybe just coencidence. Not a mechanic, really not sure.
