Power Mirror/Power Lock Challenge

I have a 1998 GMC Jimmy 4x4 and my power mirrors and remote locking control that I carry on my keyring quit working. I checked the users manual to find out if there is a fuse that controls these features and sure enough there is one fuse that controls both divices. I quickly changed the fuse and "PRESTO", they still don't work. If any of you know what else I might check to fix this problem, I would greatly appreciate your advice.

Was the fuse blown?

Try this procedure
Transmitter Synchronization
Resynchronization may be necessary due to the security method used by the remote keyless entry system. The transmitter does not send the same signal twice to the receiver.
The receiver will not respond to a signal that has been sent previously. This prevents anyone from recording and playing back the signal from the transmitter.
Resynchronization may be necessary under the following conditions:
The battery in the transmitter is very weak.
The battery in the transmitter was replaced.
The battery in the vehicle has been in a low or no charge condition for an extended period of time.
In order to resynchronize the transmitter with the receiver, perform the following steps:
Stand within 1.5 meters (5 ft) from the vehicle.
Simultaneously press and hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter for 7 seconds. The door locks should cycle in order to confirm synchronization.

Do the power locks not work at all, or just not with your remote?

I tried changing my battery in my remote. Still no luck. Now my power locks are not working. Has anyone heard of any recalls? I have a

I had the same problem with my 1995 Jimmy. After taking it to several non-factory shops, I took it to the dealer. They found the problem, and it was the lumbar (lower back) motor had a short in it. If you look in your fuse box and check one of your circuit breakers. (They are the large metallic looking fuses) One of mine was super hot and I could not take it out with my fingers. Check your drivers seat to see if it will adjust. If not this may be your problem. I just disconnected the connector to the power lumbar motor. (Problem solved) The dealer was going to charge me $500.00 to fix this. Yeah right.

Check it out. This may fix your problem.

Let me know.

Good luck.

Fuse box is inside the drivers door on mine.
