I do not have a key for my trunk and have been using the electric trunk button in the car for years. Now it is not working and I'm baffled. Is it a fuse or a loose wire under the dash? Need help!

First thing to check would be the fuse, but the trunk release motor on mine was sticking, and I opened it up to find the shaft of the nylon helical gear was worn down a bit, causing extra friction. I was able to fix it by putting in a couple of tiny washers, to allow it to spin freely again. It's fairly simple to remove and disassemble, provided you can get back into the trunk...

i think the door key is the same as the trunk key. that's how it is on my '82. did you change out your lock cylinders and lose the key?

found the problem after a locksmith installed a new lock for the trunk. It was a dislodged wire leading in the trunk just beyond the back seat. Damn simple problem, but I still needed a locksmith to get in.
