V2 intake good?

Anyone here have aem v2 cold air intake on their car...i got a 99 ls and i might get it..just wondering if theres good gains and if it sounds good??anyone know a site with integra dyno's for CAI's??

Its pretty good, but IMO, unless you have lots of money, and dont mind paying a lot of money to squeeze out every possible pony, then its not worth it.

what are u talkin about..i dont get what ur saying...i just wanna get the intake for now... why would i have to pay lots of money to get all the HP out of it..u mean paying for all other parts for a N/A engine to get more HP i guess huh?

He means that the V2 is about the most expensive intake on the market adn unless you want/need the absolute best becuase you will need to squeeze every last hp out of your engine than it is not worthe it.
On the other hand I have one an I love it! It sounds beautiful and I have had not problems sucking water up in to it either. Installation is not the easiest but the kit from AEM has everything you need and good instructions. Let me know how it goes and if you have anyother questions.

Your paying too much for hardly anything. The only noticeable gain will be extra noise. With an exhaust & header 15-20HP max. gain @ the wheels. Kinda sad seeing that you've spent about a grand by then.

id say it varies on different types of motors. I dont think you will have a problem hydrolocking you car unless u drive into a river or something. Most CAI that hydrolock is those front mount type intakes since it is more closer to the ground where those puddles are. CAI dont have problems in rain kind of weather but just dont drive into those lakes or anything. Id say just get an AEM intake where it is almost the same and the difference in HP gains is like .5

A $30 K&N with the stock air box gives you the same performance as a $250 AEM CAI with the added insurance that you dont have to worry about water submersion.

I'm not sure about that one, maybe a short-ram intake compared to stock intake with K&N replacement filter would be about the same. Even the shittiest CAI/filter will have a slight improvement over stock due to the cooler air. Short-ram may flow better than stock, but the hot under-hood air kills it. Cooler air makes power, not HOT! Stock air intakes suck in cooler air than a short ram.

The stock air box sucks the same temp air as a CAI. An AEM CAI might give you and extra 1 or 1.5hp compaired to the stock air box with a free-flowing filter. I'd rather save a $100+ bucks and not have to avoid puddle every time it rains or snows instead of gettin an extra 1hp.
The only reason you would need to buy a CAI would be because your engine needs more volume. With a small motor(~1600cc) a CAI will only be needed for about 230+hp, which most kids with Hondas dont have.

The problem with the stock integra airbox is not in the box but if you have ever taken the thing out as I have you would have noticed the HUGE silencer that sits behind the front bumper. There is no way that that flows as much air as fast as a V2. Now according to the Dyno Sheets on AEM's website: http://www.aempower.com/pdf/dyno/24-6003%2094-01%20Integra%20LS%20V2.pdf the V2 adds pretty good horsepower over stock (about 9) and about one over the AEM CAI. And if you shop around there is no way you will have to pay the $370 they list as msrp. I payed more like 260 shipped. Alot more than a standard CAI or short ram but you pay for performance. As a side note now that i have decided to go with FI I'll have a V2 for sale here in the future.

We're young Civic drivers where a $200-$300/mo car payment rides us broke. Paying a half to full car payment for one part should make the car a lot faster. I mean that's only fair right?

Driving throught rain or snow wont really affect ur engine bad enought o hydrolock. People are afraid to get those front mount CAI because they think the rain is gonna hydrolock the engine and blow it. Trust me rain isnt gonna do anything but driving with the bottem half of ur car throught the ocean will! Most non-front mount CAI intakes are mostly protected from the rain so i doubt hurricane weather will hydrolock ur engine.
