1991 Nissan Maxima Starting Problem

Hi,
I have some strange starting problem with my car Nissan Maxima 91 model.
I just took it to a car mechanic to fix it. But he couldn't figure out the solution for the problem. He said the fuel is injected perfectly and the sparker also working fine. He tested the system with an computing device which said everything is ok.
It happened all of a sudden on the day of this new year. I started the car, drove it and stopped it. When I try to restart it again, it is not. I have to leave it for a while and then if I start, it starts for once. Then again same condition... leave it for a while and then restart. It runs perfectly when I drove it.
I don't know what's going on? Have any one came across such problem. I would appreciate if someone could respond for this weird problem.

This is probably your battery which is getting old or just on its way out. I had a problem like that just recently with mine. I am running a 600 watt amp w/2 12in. subs!! It is killing the battery bad.
Another thing could be the alternator??

Go by your local parts store: Autozone, Carport, Sears, etc... and have them test your battery just to make sure. It sure sounds like it may be bad, although you'd think the mechanic would have picked up on that.

I experienced similar "won't start" on my '90 Nissan Maxima w/VG30E manual 5-speed transmission just a couple of days ago...after parking and turning off the engine and leaving my car parked for about 30 minutes or so, I returned to my car and tried to start it. The engine would turn over briskly; however, it wouldn't start. I tried about five or six more times, but it felt like there was either no fuel getting to the cylindars or the engine was flooded (i.e., there wasn't any "fire" in the engine). I left my car alone overnight, then tried starting it the next morning...it started OK, but was a little rough. I turned off the engine and tried to start it again...it wouldn't start (the same thing as the night before). I left it alone for a few hours and tried starting it...it started OK, but again, was a little rough. I checked the spark plugs and wires...everything there appeared to be OK. I, therefore, determined that something was wrong with the fuel system or injectors. I replaced the fuel filter (cost about $21.00 at our local NAPA dealer) and poured in a bottle of concentrated Gumout fuel injector cleaner solution into my full tank of gas. This seems to have done the trick, as the car is now starting well and running smooth!
