Hey,
Does anyone know if there is a HP difference in the us-spec motor and the jdm motors, assuming you used us-spec intake and exhaust manifolds? I just got a motor transplant to a used low-mileage jdm unit and the engine feels like it's got more power than 140. It felt like it had 140 hp before the engine transplant. Anyone know???????

The JDM Primera engine was rated for 150 PS which is roughly 145 hp. That comes from the additional half point of compression ratio and the tubular exhaust manifold.

I have a dyno in my basement.

Just a rough estimate based on my personal experiences with other cars having similar power ratings and engine types.

Semantics?

Well the 95-on US market engines there *is* a different head (low port) and different manifold. On the 91-93.5 cars the only difference is the EGR valve. It is otherwise the same.
