Changing the ATF & Timing belt

What kind of ATF goes in a 01 Rodeo? When I change it do I just heat the tranny up, drain the old ATF, pump in the new, start the truck and let it warm up, turn it off and pump more in till it comes out of the overflow?

And my haynes manual says to change the timing belt at 60,000 miles. Is that a bit soon?

Thanks

The type of ATF you need to use will be in your users manual. I think its dexron 3 in mine but check yours to be sure.

As far as the timing belt I would also go by what the isuzu manual says in its maintenance schedule.

Top it off with the engine running.

Any dextron3 or dex3/mercV universal stuff works well in the 4L30E, locate your drain plug & fill plug on the main tranny pan & your set. Here's a good post: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=163901
Don't worry about the timing belt until you are over 100Kmi. I've seen many posts now where the T-belt still looked new at 100Kmi+ The 1998+ 3.2/3.5 are non-interference anyway. G/luck
