hello everyone in AF.. im a newbie starting to drive.. i have about 5grand and am about to start driving... i want to also of coruse race with people..so do you all think i should get a nissan 240sx and then drop a sr20 in it? or should i just keep it DOHC ka style and massively invest from that on? im going for all go some show with about 500 dollars every month..i dont mind to save up or get it a piece of the time..thanx if any suggestions..

Get a DSM

Defiently dont get a 240sx as your first car, I just got mine and it's allready in the shop. Like dorkin said get a dsm you can get a decent awd turbo with the amount of cash you got.

And a DSM is dependable, if you treat it good. Run it like shit, and well it will die deader than 4 o'clock. Yes, deader.
And if its your 1st car, chances are... your gonna wreck it. So ponder upon that too. You might also want to look at insurance, I was once in your boat, and insurance quickly changed my mind. It's a scam I tell you !

I have a 95 se 5 spd and i havent had any trouble out of it besides the water pump and i had to put in a new clutch, it was the original clutch. I belive it had about 138xxx miles on it when i replaced those two parts. It has about 141xxx on it now and still pulls strong.

I'd take my "rice rocket" ANY day over a DSM. Even if the DSM was a GSX running 12's, I'd stay with my 240. Mitsu=crap

my p.o.s. 240 smells like gasoline, the climate control is busted unless you put it on 4 (1,2,3 dont work).i have a horribly squeaky clutch, yellow ass headlights. its uncomfortable to be in. not a smooth ride at all.

theres normally always something wrong with it. my car is down a good 4-5 days a month

I used this stuff made by eagle one thats made for mag and alum. wheels. and polished my head lights with it they look new just a tip if you wanted to get rid of that crap on ur head lights..... you can get it at auto zone for about 3 bucks for little can
