92 camaro gears

i have a 92 camaro rs with a manual transmission. to upgrade to a 3.73 gear, would i need a 3 series carrier, the one that the 99 camaro has and the newer z28 trans am too? right now i have im pretty sure a 3.08 already installed. i guess i need a new carrier in order to take the 3.73? if anyone could help thatd be great.

you should be ok. the carrier in the third and fourth gen camaros are interchangeable, the bearing part numbers are even the same. i would get a torsen unit from a fourth gen, some came with 3.42 gears stock, which is close to the 3.73, but im also sure that someone somewhere sells the 3.73 for that unit. hope that helps.

welp, I'm sorry Aphex I gave you wrong info. Iroc cuaght it before I did. the carrier is interchangable. I just got off the phone with my pops...super chevy guru ASE master mech, and all around dick head...lol....but, with 3.73 I would get some posi, but that's just me.
