you dont have to do a full motor swap, but you can pull the turbo stuff off of a vr4 and put it on an SL

That part number is for a set of 13g turbos, and will only work on a TT model. They are direct replacements for the stock turbos.

What you would get is the turbos only, so if you took the turbo parts off a vr4 then yes, they would be able to bolt up. the problem is that you will never get close to using the power of the stock turbos with 10:1 compression. if you put a vr4 engine in a base or sl then it would be benificial, but you would have one hell of a time putting all that power to the ground.

ok if thats the case then tal......how does the gst put the power to the floor being a front wheel drive car?.....and how would i change the compression from 10:1???..........how much would it cost to get a vr4 engine?

you will be able to put the power to the groud just as well as a gst, I was refering to haveing 8:1 and 13g's. That will put you upwards of 400hp. From a roll you would dominate, but from a stop you would suck just as much as a modded gst. Most of the fast DSMs are AWD.
to change the compresion you just have to change the pistons
couple grand for the vr4 engine

You should check out posts concerning this topic on 3si.org they have covered this extensively and many are willing to help in the process of this conversion. A couple of companies such as GroundZeroPerformance.com are attempting single turbo kits right now that will be cheaper and easier than any other option on the market. If you're ready to do this get ready to spend every paycheck for some time though. NA were not built for that power though so you're gonna have fun with all the parts that need to be installed. Just an example you need an LSD and the only ones available run 900-1000.

there r 2 NA's in texas with the turbo conversion. dzapata and mitsutogocars or something like that, check them out on 3Si.org and ask them the questions.\
