Synthetic oil

I just bought a 2000 I30 with 25000 miles and looks like it has been service with regular oil. I would like to change to sythetic oil but after using reg oil for 25K would that cause a problem. Also what type of synthetic would you recommend.

Any synthetic would work, Mobil One or Amsoil are consider the best.

I switched over to Mobil One in my '02 I35 at just around the 4K mark. I also use the larger oil filters, not the small ones you get if you order from the Infiniti or Nissan dealers. I also change the oil filter twice during the life cycle of the Mobil One. The first change is when I drop the oil. I also change it at the 2500-3000 mile mark but don't change out the oil. I go about 5,000-6,000 miles before changing the oil. I know some people claim they go 7000-10,000 miles before changing but that's too many miles for me. I get the Mobil One for about $4 per quart and do the oil change myself.
If anyone wants the part number for the larger oil filters just drop me an email. I don't have it handy but I can go out to the garage and get it. I'd do it now except it's raining like crazy. :iceslolan

Thanks for the response, I think I will go with the mobil 1 and change between 5 and 6K. Thank will be about 5 - 6 months for me. On the oil filter I may go with the larger filter also.
