2000 CEL light flashes don't know whats going on!

Car when accelerated the CEL light flashes, and also the speed won't pick up, but the RPM goes up. Once I get past a certain speed it's fine. Just when I accelerate. For example when I'm accelerating to 60MPH, the light will flash all the way to 60MPH. Also my car has some fuel issues it seems. Before I use to get gas milage of about 250 miles per tank, now at 150 miles the fuel light turns on, but when I go get gas it still has lots of gas in it? What could this be? Could it be a fuel level sensor of some sort? Please help. Thanks.

Sounds like you got some bad intake manifold gaskets - VERY common.

Does it seem to misfire at idle?

No it's very smooth at idle, and I am the first owner of the car. Its driven lots of highway miles. I just don't understand, nad I am afraid to take it to the dealer because they seem to take no blame and charge me $100 for just looking at it.. how could the intake maifold gasket go bad and is it ieasy to fix?

They suck to fix, if the cel is flashing while your driving that indicates a misfire, which would also explain your bad gas mileage....just go to an auto zone or whatever you have near you and have them check it...ill bet its a misfire or multiple misfire code.....

hi, so what are the solutions to misfiring? I mean what do I do about it? Change spark plugs or somethign? So one said there is no distributor in this car so what does the spark plug go to ? And ar there sparkplug wires also?

Also it does knock a lot when idling is that misfiring also?

Did you find out what code is in the ecu yet? cant tell you how to fix it till we know for sure what the problem is
