gauge lights

ay guys im looking to redo the gauge lights any suggestions. ive seen some guy on another forum did it him self where on the tacometer made the numbers blue and changed the lines to plane white and the same for the speedometer. he didnt explain how to do it though. wondering if you have seen that done and i kinda want to stay away from indaglow they are just too... over used
