and one of the lowest compression was 174 the highest being 210 psi. is this unusual?

I dont know which engine you have but here are some specs...
Si should have around 156
Others should have around 185
The maximum variation (diff between highest and lowest) should be no greater than 28 psi

alright alright, my dumbass forgot to warm the engine up and open the throttle during crank. they all read near 180 and a variance of no more than 10 psi.
