95 Accord Starting Problem

I own a 95 Accord EX 2.2 VTEC. I just moved from the west coast to the east coast, and i have been having trouble starting my car in the morning when the engine is cold.
When i put in my key and start to crank the engine, i hear 1 click, and nothing happens. All engine lights come on then off, but the starter did not engaged. After couple tries, the engine cranks over right away.
I noticed if i put in my key into battery position, let it does all the engine tests, i can start the engine on first try.
If you have experienced it before, i would really appreciate any advice.
Thanks again.

Based on your description, I would think the electrical portion of the ignition switch is faulty.

Is there a recall for my ignition switch, and where can I purchase a ignition switch for my 97 Accord LX.
That thing is a bugger to get out! Any pointers?
Thanks

The ign. switch recall only afftected '98 & newer.
Honda part dept. or http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/ - cheaper than most dealers unless you know some one to get parts @ cost.
http://www.icelord.net/honda/repair/
I can't remember the exact process for replacing the ign. switch on that car, but it goes something like this:
Disconnect negative battery cable
Remove lower dash & lower steering column cover
Disconnect the switch
Insert the key & set "0"
Remove 2 screws & remove switch
Reverse for install
**note** this is for the elctrical portion, the lock cylinder is a bit more involved - requires drilling sheer bolts out.

i have a 94 accord, there has been a few times in the past and today, where my engine will not start. it cranks but no firing, then after numerous times it sounds like it wants to fire and start but it wont do anything. also i noticed when i turn the key on, the gear panel on the dash, the "D4" from my gears is highlighted, anyone know why?

Check for main fuse at fuse box under hood, and make sure there is no loose fuse. If nothing wrong with fuses, definitely your starter. Get one from junk yard and replace it. cost me $20 and too me about 45mins total to take it off and put another one back. RUNS AGAIN~!!! :naughty:
