Hey all, Considering buying a 00 maxima SE with 65k miles. I'm trying to find out any major problems people have had with maximas with this mileage on them. What mileage does the timing chain start to go? I've read about the ignition coils and the various sensors that go. Anything else I should know about before buying?

I have a 2k with 150K miles and no problems, so I don't forsee you buying a 2k being a problem unless you're the type to be predisposed not to do regular maintenance and service on your car.

As far as I know Nissan engineered the timing chain to last longer than just about any other component associated with the engine, they (Nissan) originally wanted a rubber belt that could last over 100,000 miles and when the manufacturer's of these rubber belts couldn't guarantee it, they (Nissan) asked for the chain that is linkless in order to meet the rigours of the VQ's power delivery.
