1988 Jeep Cherokee Electrical Problem

Does anyone have information on how to troubleshoot and repair the parking and dashboard light circuit(s)? My fuses, bulbs, and headlight switch are all in good condition.
Just prior to the problem I replaced the parking light fuse. It had fused to the box. Maybe a dead short.
Changing the fuse did not restore the parking or dashboard lights.
Before I remove the fuse box and check the wiring behind it, are there any other places in the circuit I should be checking first?
Thanks.

Thumpher30,
I have the same problem. I purchased and installed the new headlight switch. The 10 amp fuse still blows when I pull the headlight switch to the first notch (turning on the runnign lights and dashboard lights). I have disconnected the taillights...fuse blows. I have disconnected the headlights....fuse blows. I have removed the blue relay...fuse blows. I have disconnected the 2 large plug-in connections to the back of the dash board....fuse blows. My chilton's manual doesn't show the schematic for that circuit. :banghead: Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
