its a pain in the ass really. i took out my dash in my 93 dx so i could redo my interior and it was hard as hell. actually, taking it out is the easy part after u unscrew everything, putting it back together is the pain in the ass part.....u have to reroute the entire wiring harness which is a pain in the ass cause u have to remember almaost exactly how u took it out or some of the dash wont fit perfect cause the wiring will be in the way. the other hard part is remembering where all the screws go and to make sure u get them all back in. if u dont do it right and line everything up, your dash will make a rattling noise sometimes. i would say, take your time to do this, but if u just want to put some pretty lights in your dash, try to find another way rather than having to take out your dash. First, take out your clock thats in the dashboard if you dont have one then its a place for a clock above your hazard sensor button, unscrew the 2 screws where your gauges are, then unscrew the screw behind the clock then you have to unscrew a screw over by the left air vent after that idk what to do. hope it helps

Is it easier to do this with a 2000 EX?

I've got the interior where my climate control system is operated with levers that I slide left or right - the one on the left is for the temperature, and the one on the right is for the fan speed. These levers are located below my stereo, and then above my stereo there are the two central vents, and then above them, to the left is my emergency lights button, and then to the right is my rear defroster.

I would like to take it out and paint it either white, or blue. I know it's kinda ricey and stuff - but I can't afford a new engine right now so why not have some fun customizing my interior - I'm leaning towards a blue dashboard to match my car's exterior and because white is quite common among people that customize their interiors. Do people just use cans of spraypaint to do this? That's what I would assume people use - unless there is some secret I'm not aware of.

pick up a chilton car manual for the car then read in it, there will be one or two diagrams for your model.
