i think that ford is making this car but it is not gonna come to states until 2006 or it may never come. if it makes to the production focus will be a good competitor for wrx sti and lancer evo.

It will never make it to these shores. The RS may make it in some form. There was plans to release a turbo Focus.

why not just by the parts that Ford makes for the RS focus through the company? (i.e. quarter panels and turbo)

I doubt the Cosworth Focus will ever come into existence, it would most certainly be released here in the UK first. Check out ffoc.co.uk

According to a friend I have in the motor trade, Ford is "rumoured" to be working on a 2.0 Turbo Focus with 4wd and 310bhp, riding on 18's as standard...

Its also going to be badged the Focus RS4, although some parts are being jointly developed with Cosworth.

This was over a year ago at a Ford car club days event. They are making them and only in Ford blue.

They'd all be Focus RS's then!

In current issue of Road and Track (well, October issue), the editors stated the Focus RS is not due to hit U.S. shores. I've never read actual rumors from legitimate sources about the RS ever being produced in the States, but I don't read everything either.

I don't think Ford cares too much about the only decent car it's actually created without trying to use retro models. Since Ford's killed the SVT Focus, I don't think we're going to see anything for a while especially with development/advertisement being focused on the Mustang as of late.

Maybe if the WRC ever comes to the U.S... oh, I'm wishing too much.

yeah a real STi/evo competitor will step on the toes of the GT and Cobras. thats one of te reasons that svt zx2(trubo200hp high 13's 21k) and roush fusion zx2(sc230hp low-mid 13's 21k) never made productions both cars were to be under 22k.

The SVT would run faster then a 25k GT and only come in .5 behind a 28k Mach1 and be able to take both in autoX, and the Fusion would be even with a Mach1 and a little behind the Cobra, again kill them in the autoX also. Either car would have been able to handle as well or slightly better then a svt focus and run even with or KILL a SRT-4. For the price of a SRT-4 you would have had the power of a Mach1(1/4 wise) and handleing over a SVTfocus or S/R.
