Exotics beware

It's Jan 1st so I hope everyone had a happy and safe New Year. As of 8:02 I have finally run all my house guests off, all thats left now is a mess and a headach, damn Wild Turkey. Anyway, most of the threads I have seen are about racing Civics, Camaros, or TAs. I've run my share of those but I've aslo encountered several exotic imports over the years. I hang out in Panama City Fla. and New Orleans LA alot and they both attract hot cars, and most of them think they can beat anything on the road. Thats what really makes it fun. Every Spring Break there are at least half a dozen Stangs on the hunt at the beach and any Ferrari is fair game. If I can't handle it one of my buddies can. I've been beat once by a modified Viper(at least it was American), but he did not stand a chance against my friends 89 notchback. It has a 408 with a Barry Grant carb, stage III Canfields, C4 and a 250 shot of N20. It runs 9.80s and is streetable! Needless to say he is yet to be outrun on the street. Complements of Panhandle Performance. There's only one person I know of who can outrun him and thats a 1981 Camaro, 500+cubes, 250+of nitrous, and 5.40 1/8th miles and it prowls the streets of Mobile AL. At about 4mpg it dosen't see the street much, only when needed.

You have a point, I'm not going to build a car I can't just get in and drive. I'd rather enjoy driving it to the track. I usually run the Hot Rod Power Tour and New Orleans is six hours away, so driveability is a must. I can tolerate bad gas milage, my car isn't that great. Usually average about 15mpg if I can keep my foot out of it. It must run on pump gas, at least off the track. Mine runs fine on 93 but I don't run the N2O unless I add NOS octaine boost.(always keep a spare). At the track with the 150pill I use Turbo Blue race gas. This has worked well for me so far, and I put 20 miles each way to and from work 4 days a week and one trip to Burbon St. once a month. During the summer it goes to PC Beach about every other weekend which is one hour each way. I am happy with the driveability/performance of my present setup, but the engine I'm building now for it will be quite a bit more extreme, but I'll still keep it docile enough for the occasional road trip.

I'll try and put up a video of my buddy steves car, he lives in tuscon and has a nice black notch that went 8.60's on an E/T street yet with the "small" T66 turbos and I think he was running speed pro. He's now gone to a pair of garrett GT42's and AEM EMS. Not bad for a street car

1st of all - Do you live in Panama City or New Orleans or in between? Just curious as I live in PC (Callaway actually).
2nd - What do you think of the work Panhandle Performance did for you?
The reason I'm asking is because I am planning on having some work done to my 99 GT, and I am considering them, once I get some more $.
Thanks in advance for your time

Whats up? I am about an hour north of you. Close to Dothan. For the work to be done right Panhandle is the best choice by far for our area, that I know of anyway. Bennett Racing is more experienced but they are about 10 hours north of me, and Lyn Haven is 70 miles, so I don't think it's worth the drive to north AL. Panhandle has cashed about 8-10 grand in checks from me since 1997. They are expensive, and you have to wait to get your car in their shop, make an appointment well in advance, and then expect to wait on it, because they're always full. I still have to wait and I am friends with them, but they are good. Let them put your hoss on their dyno and you won't be disappointed. Adam can do some pretty cool stuff on the flowbench. So yea, I am happy with their work. They're high but they can do alot of stuff that I can't. The dude with the notchback is really happy. He dropped a 15 thousand dollar check, and thats on top of an already modified car. But look what he got. How many 9sec Mustangs have you seen this week? Check them out www.panhandleperformance.com, call and ask for Adam Day. He is really cool, just tell him what you have and what you want.

Sexy lines don't mean crap as far as performance goes but they are still cool. Check this thing out. It belongs to my Aunt's boyfriend. I got the chance to take it to Panama City last summer and it got more attention than my car. Even though it sounds really good this thing is slow. It might run mid 13s, but the average person thinks it would eat my car. It would not stand a chance in a drag race but thing will carve a corner. It handles much better than my Iroc. Overall this is a very cool car but I'll stick with my Stang.
