piston interchangeability?

hi, i have a b5 engine, but it's pistons were damaged.
can i swap only the piston with another type of piston such as the one used in b6 engine since it has the same bore size (78mm) but different in stroke (B5 is 78,4mm & B6 is 83,6mm) ?
B5 : bore x stroke = 78mm x 78,4mm
total displacement = 1498 cc
compression ratio = 9.4
B6 : bore x stroke = 78mm x 83,6mm
total displacement = 1597 cc
what is the compression ratio for B6 engine?
have anyone done this?

If the connecting rods are the same length and the wrist pin the same dia, yes.
