Hi I'm in the middle of changing my starter motor in a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder SE V6. It is all unbolted but we are having trouble removing it as there is not much room . Anyone have any suggestions.
Thanks Wits end

Yes, I do, Wits End...don't worry, it's actually a piece of cake.
I ran into the same problem 3 months ago on mine, first time took me 3 hours, the second time only took me 45 minutes (1st one was a reman Bosch..absolute junk! They're not built the way they used to. (Compare an O.E.M. reman to a Bosch and you'll see -& hear- the difference)
Anyway, first: Remove the skid plate. Unhook the main engine wire harness & unhook the bolts holding the 2 metal lines so you can move them aside out of yer way (no need to diconnect the lines or harness).
Note: both times I removed the starter while the vehicle was on the ground, in the dirt nonetheless, a lift may be easier but not necessary.
The starter comes out the front and it fits exactly like a key. You'll need to finagle a bit but eventually you'll find the correct position. I'd say just removing the damn (2) bolts from the starter it's the be-atch of the whole job. Good luck! Hope this helps. And don't give it up... :grinno:
