hey man it's not a lot of work fist take off the that shity thing on top of the altenator. then remove the two bolts on the right side of the altenator 1 bolt is the one that makes the altenator belt to stay good then remove the bolt that is in front of the altenator. now u going to have three bolts put together. now make sure they stay like that. taking the altenator out from its place its going to be kind of a pain. use a screwdriver a long one and use it kind of crowbar. then follow ur steps back when installing the new altenator. i hope i was clear enough man when putting the front bolt on the new altenator becareful u don't lose the small bolt,. take care

i have a 91 accord and i just changed out mine there is 3 maybe 4 bolts that need to be removed. one is on the top of the alt., one is hidden towards the bottom right(while standing at the front end), also there is one on the front(actually there is two but only one has to be removed, and that is the right one). you'll need a good socket and wrench set. If weather improves over here ill try to get you some pics.

This Is Hard To Describe But At The Top Of The Alt. And In Front Theres A Adjusting Bolt(*loosen Second). On The Side, Or The Side With The Pully On It Has A Bolt That Tightens To The Adjustment Bolt (*loosen First*) And At The Bottom A Bolt That It Piviots On(*remove Last). Make Sure You Unhook The Battery, And Putting It Back On, Make Sure The Belt Is In The Groves. - And The Best Tools For This Is Angled Rachet Wrenches, I Had To Replace A Water Pump And They Made It A Breeze. This Has To Sound Awful But I Just Read A Thread That Some Guy Tries To Describe A Sound That He Has No Idea What It Actually Sounds Like...?

I just did one on a 88 accord. Not hard, Start off by pulling the + batt trem. Hope I didnt need to say that :eek7: Anyway now turn back the adjuster for the alt. belt. Now go back on the adjuster and remove the bolt holding that on. For the next PLEASE get a jack stand and use your head. Get the car up on the stand and remove the wheel. Now on the lower part of the alt. there is a nut on the outside. Take that off and push the bolt out. There is no head on the other end of this (bolt) so dont push it back as you get the nut off. Only after you remove the nut. Now go back up top. Remove the airfilter box. First unclip the back, like the way you change the filter. Then take out the 2 bolts on the top. They have a big washer with like a 10mm head. Now remove the 2 large intakes on the air box. The top one pops off the lower one has a clip. The clip is like the clips for the airbox. Now lift the airbox up while pushing it away from the motor. Now you can pull the alt. If you didnt get the alt off the lower mount yet. It should be free but it takes rocking back n forth to get it free from the lower mount. Ok, pull the alt. over so you can see the back of it. Pull back the rubber boot and remove that bolt. The wire should just come free with the nut off. CAUTION. That wire is HOT it the BATT. is hooked up. Then there is a green plug. On the side of the plug is a clip. Just push in on the top and pull it out. Now the ALT. is 100% free so lift it out from the top where the airbox was.
Now, just start over with the new ALT. and go backwards  Only one small thing. The lower mount has a bushing in the outer bolt hole. Tap that back and the new alt. should slide in place.

Ummm your crazy.
Didn't you mean take off the negitive and if your feeling unlucky, THEN take off the positive.
Your going to fry things(including yourself) if you start taking off the positive first. This rule applies to ANY electrical device.

I tried for quite a long time, I couldn't get hand close to the bolts.
Do I need to remove steering pump and some other stuff to give myself more space? Should I work on top or from bottow of car?
