I have had my 1999 Blazer since August, and Since then all I knew I had with my remote was the auto door lock. Somehow tonight, I went to get into my truck and an alarm went off. I didnt even know I had one. Is there something special I have to do with the remote, or is it probably just a loose wire or something. Thanks for your help.

Nope, it is just there. You should also be able to disarm with the key in driver's door. Make sure you didn't happen to trigger the panic button. That is common

I cant figure it out, no matter what I do, I cant get it to go off again. There are three buttons on the remote, 1 locks it, 1 unlocks it, and the other button doesnt do anything.

What does the third button look like? Does is have any kind of writing on it or something like that?

No, there isnt any writing at all. There is one bigger button that locks the doors, and 2 smaller buttons. 1 unlocks the doors, and the other appears to do nothing.

Thats strange...I have a 2001 blazer and I have 4 buttons...one to lock, one to unlock, one to panic, and then one to pop the rear window hatch. I was thinking that yours might be the rear window button, but now I dont know.

try holding them down, or hitting the third one in rapid succession twice...

On my 97, that I don't think has an alarm, I have three buttons. One to unlock, one to lock, and one for the back window.

It happened again last night. But I still dont know how I did it. My keys were in my pocket when I got out of the truck, all of a sudden the horn is going and the headlights are flashing.

Try putting a window down. Then get out & lock the truck. Wait alittle and reach in the open window and open the door from the inside. Bet it gose off.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot. I'm going to wait until later to try it though. Right now the sound of it going off would make my head explode.

Thanks carguyinok, but it didnt work. This is starting to really hurt my brain. I have had the damn thing for 4 months and never knew it had an alarm. And in 2 days it has gone off twice, but I dont know why or how.
Next thing I know it will be starting by itself.

i just bought a 1999 blazer also and I have been finding out things on my remote also, like the remote starter installed on it. I had the remte starter working and it took me another two days to figure out what I had done to get it to work. Mine is a four button one locks, one unlocks, one is panic and the other is AUX. I thought the AUX did nothing until one day I hit a bump leaving work and the interior lite came on and the rear ajar lie came on. After that I checked it by sitting inside and listening for a slight click when I pressed the button and traced it to rear glass

With the alarm, it is an aftermarket add on system, the factory never had an siren. Your best bet is to look under the dash on driver's side. That's usually where they're installed. and check for a manufacturer name.

I have a 96 and on my remote there are three buttons. A lock button an unlock button and a option button. When you hit the lock button it alarms the vehicle and when you hit the unlock button it disarms it. The only thing is when it is armed and the truck is just sitting there it (the alarm. will periodicly beep like three times like it is resetting itself. I've never heard one do it. it is quite anoying actually.

The factory remote for that year (1996) should have three buttons: UNLOCK, LOCK, and REAR. Again, if you look under the dash on the driver's side, the alarm module should be hanging there.
