Here is a picture of of a 4.3 in a Toyota truck engine bay. I kinda like that mini LT1 look of the manifold runners, but I understand that they only made that set up for a few years before going to a different type of system. Can anybody tell which type and model year vehicle this motor could have come from?

With my limited knowlege of the 4.3 I don't know yet what kind of EFI is good for hot rodding a 4.3 project. Will the set-up in the picture support 250 to 300 hp ? Any comments on better EFI alternatives are welcome too.

No, I actually based my identification on the giant plenum with "VORTEC" written all over it. :lol2:

well that intake was made up to '95, which could have made it mid 90's rather than early 90's.

however, the 94 & 95's used composite valve covers. the engine in the picture has stamped metal covers. the alternator style was also changed in 95.

so yes, it early 90's, but the plenum itself isnt what tells the tale. :evillol:
