Hi all... So my little Escort started to idle very high when I came to stops or slowed down. Now, it is beginning act even more strangely, by revving high and then barely chugging along, like it is going to stall out. I brought it into a Ford service shop today, and they told me that it may be the throttle kicker motor, the fuel pump or possibily the pressure regulator. First of all, I have searched and searched for what a throttle kicker motor is, and found nothing on this. What is it? And can it be reconditioned? Has anybody else had this problem, and if so, what was it?
I would really appreciate some help. I really don't want to spend a fortune on the car, because I bought it for $500 and it has 272786 km on it right now. Yup, a lot of mileage, but I still really need the beast.
Thanks for your help!
Marnie

Well, I am not sure what happened, but after taking my car into the shop, the revving went away. I am thinking that it must have been a connection problem and went they disconnected the throttle and reconnected it, it solved the problem. My car is back to humming along fine... go figure.
