I'm trying to replace the rear u-joint in my 2000 Ram 1500. The retaining clips holding the u-joint caps were rusted in place and 2 of them broke off so half of the clip is stuck. I've tried liquid wrence but they still won't come out- any advise on getting them out? Also where it bolts up to the differential seems to be stuck. After removing the bolts and giving it a couple of whacks it won't budge- any advise on that? Thanks for any help.

Where it bolts up to the differential? That normally wont move unless the tires are moving. Are you hitting the yoke where the u-joint sets in? Maybe i am seeing this differently than you, but you can just go and get a new u-joint and it should come with new retaining clips.

I think I know what you mean, I had a similar problem on my truck, for the ones where the clips are broken, you can either use a small punch after they have been soaked in liquid wrench(tap it with a hammer a few times to get the liquid wrench to work) and try to make it rotate, then try to pry it out with a pick or an even smaller punch, otherwise, try to shatter it with the puch piece by piece. As far as the rear connection, you may have to do the same, pry it out with a punch, just watch your face when it finally falls
