Interior of 2002 Beetle - Deterioration anyone?

I have a silver 2002 New Beetle with only 16K miles, and different areas of the interior are starting to peel/flake off. Specifically, the sides of my center console, the top of my odometer (middle "hump"), and the tops of the door handles. I was wondering if anyone is experiencing the same issue, and if VW warranties this?

I find it sad that I've only had the car 2 years, keep it in impeccable shape and the integrity is failing already. :disappoin

I have a 2001 New Beetle. Experienced the same peeling that you did. Center Console and both interior door handles were replaced. Had everything replaced under warranty.

Expect the power window switches, and a few others to go.. otherwise... I'll keep on Buggin
