Hi,
I got a 1999 Mits Galant V6 with 60k miles. I looked at the manual and if I remember correctly, it recommeded around 60k. So I would like to when do you guys normally change it at? And around how much would parts and labor cost me.

thanks

I would say that 60K miles is a conservative amount. You could probably stretch it to 70 or 80K, but I wouldn't wait much past another 12 months unless you're planning to sell the vehicle within the next 24 months or so :nono:.

As for :2cents:, expect to pay anywhere from $400.00 to 800.00 on average at your local Mitsu dealer barring any other unforeseen costs and although you will can get it done cheaper outside the Mitsu dealer, you must also consider the fact the other shops may not be as familar with your particular vehicle and may overlook things that may not surface until a later date. The rule of thumb is to get at least 2-3 quotes and an itemized written list of parts and labor to compare. I always show the more expensive shops quotes from the cheaper shops which typically reveal hidden costs or other inequities.

hope this was of some help. good luck.
