day runners

hey i'm looking for some info. on day runners on my 97' Cavalier z24 has no day runners and on my dash it gives me a flashing code, fast flashes and then it slows down what does this mean?
it's not the blubs i check them both. it looks like a corrosion on the wires but where do i look where do i start.
