1999 Transmission Gone - Need Help Please

I have a 1999 Lincoln Continental and the trans went on it last week. It has 66,000 miles on it. Have there been any recalls on this? Does anyone know if I have any recourse from Ford about this problem? I don't know what to do or who to contact. This shouldn't have gone bad right after the warranty expired. Thanks,
