Hey Guys,
i'm new here, how ya'all doin? Jus a couple...well SOME quick questions you guys are bound to be able to help me with. I'm importing a black GTO '92 twin turbo , with only 40,000 miles, from Japan, relly excited! Should be arriving in the next couple of weeks. I've been looking up BHP's here but you all been talking about, Non and single turbos for the Stealth and 3000GT.
1/ Is mine gonna be 280, 300, or 320 BHP?
2/ Also do they come with a dump/blow-off valve as standard?
3/ If so can i put two on her, being a TWIN turbo and all that?
4/ Handling wise, will she give me a bit of understeer BEFORE her ass snaps away, or will she surprise me?
5/ If it does all go Pete Tong, will she be easy to recover again?
Much Appreciated

It will be "276" or "280 or "287", i dont remember which, but its real horse power will be 300 at the crank.
1 BOV is just fine, you cna put 2 on if you want
being that your car is AWD it wont really snap away, unless you are flooring it through a corner, then maybe.
and the AWD makes it easy to recover from if you do manage to turn it sideways.
as far as your 115mph top speed in the other post, Im fairly sure thats the top speed because of governer because its from japan. Be sure to test yours out and let us know :naughty:

got a 93 gto jap import. it should be 280hp as standard you can fit aftermarket dump valve if you want to. it will cut out art 130mph but you can take the limiter off with an aftermarket chip if you want to. ive lost mine completely in the wet going mad so be careful. regards

AWD hmmm...i was told it was just RWD,i'm very pleased if it is AWD thats great, i learn something new everyday here. Do you think i would get a proper drift ou of AWD?
BOV !! Sounds awsome, they're always a pleasure!!
115mph this sounds very rude of the Japaneese to inflict that on me.
Is there a way to remove the governer?
England come down pretty hard on drivers doing over 100mph but it would be rude not to.
You guys got anything i can work with?

launching and drifting in a AWD is a lot harder, but once you master it, i hear it's very rewarding.

i don't know about drifting but launching is easy as hell on awd. throw it up at 5500rpms and let it loose. sometimes i go to 6000 rpm's.

doesnt sound like you did a whole lot of homework before you bought this car...

No, i admit, not much. Changed my mind at the last minute, was bidding on a few RX7s, then thought about the complexity of the Wankle Engine and thought i'd be better off with the reliability of Mitsi. Does this seem a sound decision??

The Vr4 is not made for drifting, it is very bad for the car. Please do not buy a GTO if your gonna use it for drifting!

well i guess its not a bad decision, but it never hurts to learn new stuff. you can always read up on how the rotary engines work, but if you dont feel like learning, i guess it would be best to stick with something you know. im not sure how reliability is as far as the rotary engine goes, havent heard anything about them being a problem, but i never looked into it indepth. personally i like the 3000gt better anyways :p
