I understand what your saying Iroc, but I have a hard time believing that they would do that to THE icon of american muscle. yeah those others where muscle cars, but the camaro is THE muscle car. So I think if they do bring it back it'll be something to have.

but how about this for the camaro come back, the new C6 vette has 400hp in base model, meanin the Z06 will prbly have like 450-500hp, so why not make the 345 hp LS1 the base V8 in the camaro, and take the 405hp LS6 and drop it to say, 390hp t match the supercharged mustang cobra, so its not more than the vette, and resyle it with 69 camaro cues, and let her rip. hell, i dont have the money, but i might sell a kidney to raise the funds for a down payment on one of those camaros.

I like the way you think Iroc. But hell go for the nutz. Make the LS1 the base model, give the Z the 390 LS6, and give the SS, yes they have to have an SS, what the vette has, well almost what the vette has. I love the camaro a hell of a lot more than the vette, but you have to give respect where it is due. I think I could live with out my left testicle, I'de give it for one of them bad boyz.

FWD cars don't have better traction. They are known to handle a little better in snow, but that is generally because they have less power, and also because they have a bit more weight on the front tires when trying to get going in the snow.

As far as racing and performance goes RWD cars get much better traction, because they transfer their weight to the rear when they launch. A front wheel drive car will pull the weight off it's front wheels, thus allowing them to spin pretty easily.

Also, it's not an opinion, it's a fact, weight transfer causes front wheel drive cars to have shitty traction under hard launches. The only solution to the problem is to do what some nopi drag racers have done, and throw wheely bars on a FWD. That helps to hold them down for racing.

If ya don't believe me, find one top fuel, alcohol, or even pro stock race car that isn't RWD...

simple physics, hot red Z is right on that one. even import dragsters, the serious ones anyway, are rear wheel drive chassis, even thought hey have the import engines.

I think if chevy brings back the camaro with front whell drive someone at chevy would have a bullet hole in there head.

They re-released a Chevelle and made it an economy car. The most horrible thing I have ever seen, my freind has one.

dcatkin, are you talking about the malibu???? different car, they looked the same, but they were different. the malibu was an econimy car, had six cylenders or the 307 V8. while the chevelle was basicly the Z28 of that body style. had upgraded everything, brakes, suspension, and the fun engines. and the looks to match. i suppose you could call the two the same car. but to me they are different, thats where i got confused.

yeah, i'm stumped on the chevelle thing too... I'm 99.9% sure they haven't come back out with one yet.. The only remakes I know of are the Impala, Malibu, and the GTO...

As far as the FWD thing I am going to have to agree with hot red z. I have a friend that races turbo dodges and he has one that runs right with mine...( when im in streetmode.) and his best 60' is my worse 60' (2.2 sec), and he is running a softer tire than I am.

well i mean, 12 seconds is fast for a FWD car, but the physics of the launch is superior for a RWD car. you cant argue that. impressive times non the less from his car.
