towing capacity ?

I recently purchased a 1993 Suburban (350, 1/2-ton, don't know which axle ratio) which I have not picked up yet. For relatively short trips (100 miles) can I plan on towing a 5000# camper? What could I do to increase capacity if 5000# is too much; or should I shop for a lighter camper?
