traction

I have heard from a lot of people that wet weather traction (or even dry) is a problem for the camaros...does anyone know if this differs between the v6 and v8? Is it a really big problem without traction control? I'm thinking of getting a 1998 v6 manual I saw online.

Also...I have been getting mixed reviews on gas mileage. I test drove a 97 v6 auto a few days ago, drove 11 miles, and saw the guage needle physically move down...

um, i think that gas mileage is a bit varying, my RS with a 305 gets a good 16-17 around town and 20-21 on the highway, the IROC with a broken O2 sensor, and two crossedwires got an average 23 mpg on a 1100 mile trip, with a best of 26 mpg. and thats a TPI 350. as far as traction, well, no, its not the best out there. the torque arm is stamped steel, like the rest of the suspension. and it dosnt do a good job of planting the rear end. however, an aftermarket torqe arm and lower control arms in the rear will severly help. also the torque of the engines tend to overpower skinny rear tires. so bigger meats always help. but ive only really noticed bad traction in the snow and wet weather. but i also run goodyear eagles, which are not known for wet weather traction. or snow for that matter. but i have once or twice, made it up an ice covered hill that four wheel drive pickups couldnt. but thats cuz i drop it into first gear, and inch my way up, and they try to fourwheel and gas it, and just spin tires :) obviously the V6 has less power, so it is less of an issue, but the traction probem is in the suspension which is the same for both V6 and V8 cars. but like i said, dry traction, i have rarely had a problem, my cars only break loose the rear tires when i want them to.
