Gas problems

My problem started with the service engine soon light. Well the light went out and now my car smells of gas when you walk by the gas cap area. So I filled my car up and it leaked gas immediately. I mean I didn't even have time to put the nozzle up and it was pouring out. It is a 1996 Blazer 4d 4wd. Any suggestions?
