Crash Time!

I started this so that we can all tell about our worst crash that way maybe somebody else won't do it. So her goes. I was just out by myself cruising around on a Sunday morning in October. I was riding around through these series of turns on a back road I know really well. So I rounded a turn in front of one of my friends house pretty fast and saw he was outside. So anyway I kept going a little ways and decided to turn around and come back home. There was a straight stretch right before my friends house and I figured I'd show off a little. So I pull up a big wheelie coming into the straight stretch and ride it to a little bit before the corner then braked hard and leaned it over (feeling pretty good like I was really going to rail this turn). Apparently there was no more lean possible and the front tire skidded out and before I knew it I was on the ground watching and listening to my bike skid across the pavement and into my friends car. Then I went blank for a little bit while I was tumbling through the grass and barely missing his car. I eventually came to a stop just as my bike did 2 more end over end flips and finally into a ditch. I get up to look at the remains and check myself over. Well the bike is totalled and I have a good size scrape on my knee and a big scratch in my helmet. My jacket has road rash all over it and the same with my gloves. Well I felt like the luckiest kid in the world that day considering my speed was about 90mph and I ended up in a nice patch of grass that was in between a car and ditch surrounded by rocks. If it would have been a gaurd rail I wouldn't be here. If I would have hit the car I wouldn't be here. But I guess I learned from that. Anyway the bike is back together, surprising only took me 2 months and $34 in fur! I'm back tearing up the twisties and still showing off so maybe I didn't learn my lesson.

if you are wearing your gear always now you probably learned the best lesson you could have, everybody drives stupid now and then (some more consistently then others)

Don't mix riding styles... :sly: Or something like that.
The important part is that you stood back up and learned a lesson in the end.

High speeds and open roads dont mix well anyway. Now add two wheels and nothing to save your butt. Here is case & point. I will put the website up but CAUTION THERE ARE REAL PHOTOS OF THE TWO RIDERS THAT HIT THIS TRUCK!!!!! REAL DEAD AND MAY MAKE OTHER SICK!!!!!

It's gruesome. I mean GRAPHIC. Just goes to show that at times, not even the best helmet and leathers will save your life. :(

Most riders (or maybe its just me) dont want to share their REAL bad crash stories with strangers.
But one time my pals and i were showing off late night, anyway I was going for a big stoppie and hit the brakes too hard. I went over the bars and the bike fliped and hit the sidewalk. I stood up, and was fine thank god, but the bike was in bad shape, the pillars that hold the mirrors were bent so the bike could not steer and the front brake master cylinder was broke off with brake fluid all over the tank. We towed it home and i didnt get to bed till like 5 am. Thats why i own a stunt bike! Lesson learned it never stunt on your street bike.

Thats kinda wierd, I thikn its just you :)
Its not really like getting raped or something.
Most people tell crash storys to help others out, so they dont do the same thing.
I feel your pain on looping that endo.
I lost count on how many times i've went over.
lesson being, dont show off for your friends, and learn the trick first before attempting to show off.

Hey guys. I been in multiple crashes from getting hit by a car on the freeway doing 70 to having my bike slide out from under me at willowsprings. But the even though they scared me, I could never live a life not riding a bike. My first bike was a CBR F3 than graduated to a R6, than a ZX9R, than a TL1000R, and now I have my new 2003 Blue R1.
If anyone wants the details of all my crashes with those bikes than let me know. Some funny but some scary.
Just beaware of other cars around you, they suck.

My first road bike back in the late 80's
http://www.kawa-z1.de/data/pics/z1/kaw900.jpg
THE KAWASAKI 900 Z1 SUPER FOUR. Originally destined to be a 750, the Z1 was beaten to the market place by the HONDA CB750 in 1968. Kawasaki engineers, horrified at this well kept secret launch, returned to the drawing board and redesigned the bike to be bigger and better. In late 1972 the Z1 was introduced to the world and instantly became a best seller. FOUR CYLINDER, FOUR STROKE, FOUR EXHAUSTS, FOUR CARBS, DOUBLE OVERHEAD CAMSHAFT, FIVE SPEED GEARBOX, 903 CC PRODUCING 82 BHP
& thats out of the box stock @ 903 CC PRODUCING 82 BHP. Mine had been played with alittle :evillol:
From there a Honda CX650 turbo about 100 HP @ 8000 rpm
http://www.bikez.com/bike/18180/index.jpg
From there I have just been going CBR in the 600's Last one being a 95.

Just have him PM me. They may be sick :eek7: But it also shows the REAL deal of what can happen. I would love to see everyone ride motorcycles  At the same time some people need to see things like that. As the website says I don't know anything about these photos other than they look like they were taken in Mexico. I have gotten a couple of requests to remove them from my web space, but I have declined. My prayers are with the families that lost loved ones in this wreck, but if these photos can convince one person to be careful out there--whether on two wheels or four--then I don't think these motorcyclists will have died in vain.
