custom cat-back

if i go with a custom cat-back will this alone give me good sound or need to get muffler(or tip) to? dont want ricer look. want to go for stock look just bigger piping and better sound. also what size piping good for 91 civic? 2 1/4?

Go for a whole muffler etc, why the fuck are people so "rice paranoid" nowadays, just stick a fucking exhaust on it. And yeah, 2 or 2+1/4...

Get a muffler, and it all depends on which muffler you get. Some have a deep sound, and some sound like lawnmowers. The ideal size for a catback exhaust is 2.25 or 2.50...if you have a turbo'd car, then you can probably go bigger.
