what type of muffler do you have??

ok, i dunno if this topic's been discussed or not recently, but i was gonna get a high flow muffler, but i dont know what brand and type to get, i need some advice on what type of setups you all have. I dont want a loud one, just a nice rumble for a daily driven car. I was looking for a muffler that just goes with the bend, like a stock replacement, but i hear that the bends suck a bit of hp, and just getting the straight muffler means that i will have to modify my rear bumper to fit the muffler right, or buy a kit? Please hook me up with some info, thanx.

By the way, does it matter what the motor is when determining the muffler because i've got an 94 h22a in mine......

You have an H22 in your Civic? We need pictures, pronto.

As far as mufflers, I have a DynoMax Super Turbo muffler in 2.5" bent to look stock but bigger.

Hmm.... so do your mufflers stick out of the original driver's side of the car? or do they stick out the passenger side? Is it true that the bends at the end of the exhaust suck some hp??
It's been awhile since i've been here so i dont know what happened to my pix but i'll post some soon.....

I have a cheap Focuz muffler w/ 2.5" piping. Gained good power especially at the high rpm's. Sound isn't my favorite but it isn't bad.

i'll second that! how the heck are ya doing? i figured you long forgot about us by now :evillol:

i have an axle-back made by tenzo. it runs around $250-ish and bolts right up. i have nothing bad to say except we just ordered one for jer a couple of months ago and it arrived welded backwards. when he called tenzo about it they found out a grip of them had the mistake. if you care to read more about it do a search for a thread by me titled "tenzo says oopsie" there are pics of the exhaust in that thread.

you might wanna try an HKS system. I have an Apexi n1 with custom 2.5 piping

GTA

the h22 is gonna wanna breathe more than a hks system will allow. EF_LSVtec has an hks on his while it was a stock b18, then when he put his built lsvtec in he changed to a greddy sp to let it breathe a lil more.

I've just been busy working and saving up, and got all caught up with this Everquest online game.... i havent really been playing with my hatchies until recently hehehe.... It's good to hear from my AF buddiez again.

So what does everyone think of the Thermal R+D?? Do you think it will not flow enough for an h22?? I've never heard of the Tenzo exhaust, i wonder if they will just sell the rear section of the exhaust?? And where would i go about getting either rear section exhaust??

GTA

thermal r&d. seems to flow great, i think it will be fine for the h22. i have one on my hatch and love it. dunno where to get it, i found mine used. i checked modacar.com which is a local shop in livermore and they carry it and its $459 there.

RS-R makes a nice exhaust for 2G CRX/4G Civic HB .. It uses 60mm piping (2.36")... It is supposed to be very quiet... Here is a sound clip of an RS-R system on a DC2 Integra...

http://www.rs-r.com/dc2/incar.avi

You can get it for $ 475 .. Supposedly the whole thing is ceramic coated ...

Here are some pics

it is just axle-back....meaning just the rear section. it isn't a full cat-back system. i dunno how well it does or does not work with the h22 :dunno:

check this thread for pics and so on http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=160305&highlight=tenzo

i know they can be, but thats about the going price i have seen for thermals, which is somewhere around $450, and i know Frostee is from around here (like modesto or fresno or something) so i figured might as well post up a local shop.
